Description
The ARRMA ARA330811 Upper Shock Ball Rubber set is a genuine factory replacement part containing eight rubber upper shock balls for ARRMA vehicles. These sit at the upper mounting point of the shock, where the shock body attaches to the shock tower.
The rubber ball acts as a compliant bushing between the shock and the tower rather than a rigid metal-to-metal joint. That compliance does two useful things. It lets the shock pivot naturally as the suspension arm sweeps through its arc without binding the shaft, and it absorbs a portion of the sharp impact spike that travels up the shock body on a hard landing, so less of that shock load is transmitted straight into the tower.
Because they are rubber, these are a genuine wear item. Over time they compress, harden, and eventually split from repeated impacts, heat cycling, and exposure to shock oil and cleaning solvents. Worn upper shock balls introduce play at the top of the shock, which shows up as a rattling or clunking sound over rough ground and as inconsistent damping feel. Replacing them restores a tight, quiet shock mount.
Installation is straightforward: remove the old shock balls and press the new ones into place. Eight are included, enough for a full set of four shocks with spares.
