Description
The ARRMA ARA330798 Aluminum Shock Body set contains two 15x69mm shock bodies for the ARRMA Mojave 4S 4X4 BLX desert truck (ARA4404). The shock body holds the shock oil, guides the piston through its stroke, and provides the mounting structure for the damper assembly.
These are the longer bodies in the Mojave 4S shock system, matched to the 143mm rear shock assemblies. The 15mm bore gives the piston a large surface area for smooth, progressive damping, while the aluminum construction pulls heat out of the oil far more effectively than plastic. That matters at the rear of a 4S truck, where the shocks work hardest and heat-related damping fade shows up first on long runs.
Aluminum also stands up to impacts that would dent or split a plastic body. Because even a small dent scores the piston travel and ruins damping consistency, a damaged body needs replacing rather than reusing. This set is a direct factory replacement for the bodies fitted to the Mojave 4S, so it accepts the stock shafts, pistons, caps, and seals with no modification required. Two bodies are included, enough to rebuild one pair of shocks.
