Description
This ARRMA idler gear shaft is the replacement 6x45mm steel shaft that the idler gear spins on inside the 223S transmission. The shaft is a simple part with a critical job: it holds the idler gear in precise alignment between the spur input and the differential ring gear, and every bit of the motor's power crosses it on the way to the wheels.
The shaft is made from tough steel for long-lasting durability, precision ground to exact diameter so the idler gear bearings run true without slop. A worn or scored shaft lets the idler gear wander, degrading the tooth mesh on both neighboring gears — which is why experienced builders inspect and replace this shaft during any transmission rebuild where the idler gear itself is being serviced.
It pairs naturally with the 29T idler gear set (ARA311095) and the diff set (ARA311071) for a complete gearbox refresh in one order.
Fitment covers the ARRMA 223S transmission family including the Gorgon and Vorteks Mega 550. The package includes one 6x45mm steel idler gear shaft.
