Description
The Traxxas 10778R is a 12-tooth front differential pinion gear machined from steel for the Mini Maxx. It is used with the #10778 or #10778X ring gear and is a direct replacement for the front pinion in the 12/47 ratio driveline.
The differential pinion is one of the highest-stress gears in the truck — it takes the full torque of the BL-2s brushless system through a small tooth count, so it sees far more load per tooth than the spur gear does. Machined steel construction handles that load and resists the tooth wear and stripping that ends a run.
Reach for this when the front diff starts making noise under power, when you find metal flake in the diff oil, or as preventive maintenance during a rebuild. Note this is the front pinion specifically — the rear uses #10762. Package includes one machined steel pinion gear.
