Description
The Traxxas 5652 is a 16-tooth pinion gear in 0.8 metric pitch, compatible with 32-pitch, sized for a 5mm motor shaft. It fits the Velineon 540XL motor used in the Ford Raptor R 4X4 Ultimate and other large-can Traxxas installations, and includes the set screw.
Pinion size is the single easiest gearing change you can make. Going up a tooth raises top speed and lowers punch off the line; going down a tooth trades top end for acceleration and, importantly, keeps motor and ESC temperatures in check. Anyone running higher cell counts, heavier tires, or hot weather ends up wanting a range of pinions on the bench.
At 16 tooth, this is a one-step-up option for drivers chasing more top speed on open ground — watch your temps after the change, since taller gearing loads the motor harder. Verify tooth count against your manual before ordering. Package includes one pinion gear and set screw.
