Description
The Traxxas 9469 is a pair of molded foam tire inserts for the Drag Slash, made specifically for the #9471 rear drag tires. They are direct replacements for the inserts that come inside the stock rear tires.
On a drag car, the rear insert does more work than on any other type of RC vehicle. Launch forces try to distort the big rear slicks, and the insert is what controls how much the tire wraps and squats under power. Molded inserts hold a consistent shape pass after pass, unlike cut foam, which keeps launch behavior repeatable — exactly what you want when you're chasing consistent 60-foot times.
Inserts are also a wear item. They pack down and soften with heat cycles and hard launches, and a tired insert shows up as an inconsistent, mushy launch even when the tire itself still looks fine. If you re-glue or replace your #9471 rear tires, fresh inserts at the same time restore like-new behavior. Package includes two molded inserts.
