Description
This rear differential gear and pinion set is a factory replacement drivetrain part for the Losi 8 and 8T RTR platform vehicles. Machined from metal, the ring gear and matching pinion transfer power from the differential to the rear wheels, and metal construction gives the gear set the durability to handle the torque loads of a 1/8 scale buggy or truggy without stripping teeth the way a plastic gear can under hard acceleration. Gear sets wear over time from constant meshing under load, and stripped or worn teeth can cause slipping, grinding noise, or complete drivetrain failure if not replaced. Installing a matched gear and pinion set together ensures proper tooth engagement and consistent backlash, which a mismatched or partially worn replacement cannot guarantee. Because this is a direct factory replacement, it bolts into the stock differential housing using the same mounting points as the original gear set, requiring no modification to install.
