An adjustable rod, more commonly called a turnbuckle, is a threaded rod with opposing threads at each end. That opposing thread is what makes it useful: turning the rod lengthens or shortens the link without removing it from the car. It is the difference between adjusting camber or toe in thirty seconds between heats and pulling the suspension apart to do it.
Because a turnbuckle carries load in compression along a long thin rod, it is also exactly the loading case that causes buckling. A rod that has been bent in a crash still functions, but it sets your camber or toe wrong on that side only, which makes the car handle differently left versus right. That is an easy fault to overlook, so checking rods by rolling them on a flat surface is worth doing after a heavy crash.
At 3 x 40mm this is one specific length in a range, so confirm what your car takes. Kyosho lists it across the Optima Pro and Turbo Optima Mid, Ultima, Lazer ZX-5, TF6 and the Inferno NEO range.
