Description
The ARRMA ARA330819 Front Shock Body is a genuine factory replacement shock body for the ARRMA Gorgon 4X2 MEGA monster truck.
The shock body is the outer cylinder of the damper. It holds the shock oil, guides the piston through its stroke, and provides the structural mounting for the whole assembly. On the Gorgon it pairs with the front shock shafts and caps to make up the front suspension dampers.
A shock body has to stay perfectly round to work. Any dent or score along the bore interferes with the piston's travel, which shows up as notchy, inconsistent damping on that corner and accelerates wear on the piston and seals. Because the front shocks sit directly behind the bumper, they are in the line of fire for the head-on impacts a monster truck collects, and a body that has taken a hard enough hit needs replacing rather than reusing.
Replacing a damaged body is part of any honest shock rebuild. Fresh seals and oil in a dented body will leak again quickly.
This is a direct factory replacement for the front shock body fitted to the Gorgon, accepting the stock shaft, piston, cap, and seals with no modification.
