This 17-tooth pinion gear is designed for the Losi 5IVE-TE platform and is machined from strong alloy steel for long-lasting wear resistance under the heavy torque loads that large-scale electric trucks produce. It features a Mod 1.5 tooth pitch and an 8mm "D"-shaped bore that mates directly to the motor output shaft, ensuring a secure, slip-free fit that transfers power efficiently to the spur gear. Alloy steel construction resists stripping and rounding better than softer metal alternatives, making it well suited to the high torque and repeated acceleration bursts typical of electric-powered off-road driving. As a direct factory replacement, it drops onto the stock 5IVE-TE motor shaft without any modification, making gear ratio changes or worn-pinion replacement straightforward. Swapping pinion size is also a simple way to fine-tune overall gearing for speed versus acceleration depending on driving conditions, motor setup, and personal driving style preferences.
