Description
The Spektrum SPMXSE1120 Firma 120A Brushless Smart ESC is a waterproof 3S to 4S electronic speed control for surface vehicles, aimed at 1/8 scale applications running 4S LiPo setups.
The unit is built around a fast 32-bit ARM M4 processor, which delivers high resolution signal input and accurate motor output. In practice that shows up as smoother, more predictable throttle response, particularly in the low speed range where coarser processing tends to feel abrupt or notchy.
Like the rest of the Firma Smart range, it provides single wire telemetry. Battery and ESC data travel directly to a compatible Spektrum radio in real time without additional sensors or modules, covering RPM, temperature, voltage, and capacity. Monitoring those figures during a run rather than after it is what lets you catch a motor overheating or a pack running down before it becomes a failure.
The waterproof construction handles dust, mud, snow, and water, and IC series battery connectors are backwards compatible with EC3 and EC5 style plugs.
Developed and designed by Spektrum engineers in partnership with a leading ESC manufacturer, this is a strong upgrade path for a 1/8 scale vehicle moving to 4S power, and a direct replacement where it was fitted as original equipment.
