The Losi TLR243010 is a pair of 16mm shock pistons drilled with a 1.2mm hole pattern, built for the 8IGHT 3.0. Shock pistons control how oil flows through the shock body as it compresses and rebounds, and the hole size directly affects damping characteristics, with this smaller 1.2mm bore producing firmer, more controlled damping compared to a larger hole pattern.
Piston selection is one of the primary ways racers tune shock feel to match track conditions and personal preference, alongside oil weight and spring rate, making this a genuine performance tuning part rather than just a replacement piece. Pistons can wear or become damaged from debris in the shock oil over time, and a worn piston can lead to inconsistent damping that's hard to diagnose without direct comparison.
