A pack of five 6.8mm pivot balls in Kyosho's hard specification.
These are the balls that a linkage ball end snaps onto, used at the tie rod and camber link pivots across the Inferno range. They are a geometry component as much as a fastener, because where the ball sits determines the link's pivot point and therefore how the suspension behaves through its travel.
The hard specification is the reason to choose these over a standard ball. A pivot ball carries a lot of load through a very small contact patch, and on an ordinary ball that surface eventually galls and develops flat spots. Once it does, the ball end can no longer grip evenly, the joint picks up play, and that play shows at the wheel as camber and toe that shift under load. A harder ball resists that wear substantially longer, which matters most at the front where the loads are highest and the geometry is most sensitive.
Five are supplied. Kyosho lists them across the Inferno MP9 and its TKI variants, MP10 and MP10T, MP9e, Inferno NEO 3.0 and 4.0, the Mad Force Kruiser and FO-XX.
