A pack of five M2.6 nylon insert lock nuts, 3.0mm in height.
A nylon insert nut has a collar of nylon moulded into its top. As the nut threads on, the screw cuts into that nylon, and the friction that creates is what stops the nut backing off under vibration. On a radio control car that matters everywhere, because a nitro engine or a brushless motor at speed generates exactly the kind of sustained vibration that walks a plain nut loose over a run.
They are consumable by design. Every time you remove and refit one, the nylon is cut a little further and grips a little less, and after a few cycles a nut that spins on by hand is no longer doing its job. Replacing them rather than reusing tired ones is cheap insurance against a wheel or a suspension component coming loose mid-race.
This part number supersedes the older Kyosho part 1177. Fitment is universal rather than model-specific, and Kyosho lists it across the V-One R4 and R4s II, Fantom EP 4WD, Plazma MK.3, Inferno MP9 TKI4 and MP11, the Fazer Mk2 range and the Ultima RB7.5.
