Description
This Axial Brass Portal Cover & Weights set is a direct-fit upgrade for the AXP8 Gilamon 2.2's AF16P portal axles, replacing the stock plastic portal covers with solid brass covers weighing 122 grams each. The added brass weight lowers the vehicle's center of gravity at the wheels, which improves stability and traction on uneven, technical rock crawling terrain compared to lighter factory covers.
Because it's a genuine Axial part engineered specifically for the AF16P portal axle design, it bolts on as a direct swap using the axle's existing mounting points, without requiring any other axle modifications. Brass construction also adds durability at a high-wear contact point on the portal housing.
This is a functional performance upgrade rather than a cosmetic part, aimed at Gilamon owners who want improved low-speed stability and traction through added unsprung weight at the wheels. The set includes covers and weights for both portal axles; standard axle hardware is not included.
