A higher viscosity like 9,000 cSt creates more internal resistance in the differential, which can help reduce wheelspin on high-bite surfaces or smooth out power delivery for a more predictable feel. Associated's silicone diff fluids are custom blended for consistent viscosity from bottle to bottle, so you get the same tuning result every time you rebuild.
