Description
The ARRMA ARA340215 Direct Mount Servo Saver is a 25T spline servo saver for ARRMA vehicles, including the Kraton 6S platform.
A servo saver protects the steering servo by acting as a mechanical fuse. When a front wheel strikes a curb, a rock, or the ground on a bad landing, the impact travels back through the steering linkage toward the servo. Without something to absorb that spike, the load lands squarely on the servo's internal gear train, and stripped servo gears are among the more expensive failures on a large scale vehicle.
The direct mount design differs from a bellcrank style saver in that it mounts straight onto the servo's output spline rather than working through a separate linkage assembly. That makes for a simpler, more compact installation with fewer components between the servo and the steering, which reduces the number of places play can develop.
The 25T spline is the common standard used across ARRMA vehicles and the servos fitted to them, so this works with standard 25T output servos rather than requiring a specific model.
This installs as a direct replacement for the stock unit with no modification. Replacing a servo saver that has gone soft or developed play is far cheaper than replacing the servo it is there to protect.
