Description
The ARRMA ARA330814 Shock Lower Ball set contains four steel lower shock balls, used on ARRMA vehicles including the Kraton 6S platform and its EXB variant.
The lower shock ball is the pivot at the bottom end of the shock, where the shock attaches to the suspension arm. It allows the shock to swivel as the arm sweeps through its travel, so the damper stays properly aligned instead of binding as the geometry changes through compression and rebound.
That pivot carries the entire damping load of its corner. Every landing, every bump, and every impact that reaches the wheel passes through this small ball, which is why steel is the right material here. A softer ball wears oval under that repeated load, and once it does the ball end no longer grips it tightly. The resulting play shows up as a knocking sound over rough ground and as damping that feels imprecise, because the shock now has to take up slack before it begins doing any work.
Replacing worn lower shock balls restores a tight, quiet shock mount and protects the ball ends from accelerated wear against a damaged surface.
These are direct factory replacements that install in the stock locations with no modification. Four balls are included, enough for a full set of four shocks.
