Description
The ARRMA ARA330795 Shock Shaft set contains two 4x72mm shock shafts for the ARRMA Mojave 4S 4X4 BLX desert truck (ARA4404). The shock shaft is the polished rod that travels through the shock cap and seals, carrying the piston up and down inside the shock body as the suspension cycles.
These are the shorter shafts in the Mojave 4S shock system, matched to the 131mm front shock assemblies. The 4mm diameter gives the shaft the stiffness it needs to resist bending under hard landings, while the smooth surface finish is what lets the shock seals do their job without tearing or weeping oil.
Shock shafts are a wear item and one of the most common parts to replace after a heavy crash. A bent shaft binds in the seals, causes the damping to feel notchy or stick, and will quickly chew out the O-rings and start leaking oil. Swapping in a fresh pair restores smooth, consistent suspension action and stops repeat seal damage. This set is a direct factory replacement for the shafts originally fitted to the Mojave 4S, so it drops into the stock shock bodies with no modification and works with the standard pistons and hardware. Two shafts are included, enough to rebuild one pair of shocks.
