On a drift chassis the rear end is doing the hardest work: it is continuously loaded and unloaded as the car is held sideways, and how consistently the rear suspension responds is central to whether an angle can be held.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eA composite tower deflects as those loads build. Because the upper shock mount moves with it, damping behaviour changes under exactly the conditions where consistency matters most. An aluminum tower stays put, so the shocks operate through their intended geometry rather than a shifting one.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe tower also carries the mounting holes used to adjust shock position, which means its rigidity determines whether a setup change stays where it was made.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eNote this is the rear tower only.
